GER: Kiel Week
Jim Hunt (GBR) convincingly won Kiel Week from Greg Wilcox (NZL) and Sönke Behrens (GER) - results had some errors from the mid-places, they are corrected now

SWE: USS Regatta
On the weekend 10-11 June the USS-regatta in Uppsala, Sweden was held. Thomas Hansson-Mild won from Stefan Pavia and Jonas Börjesson. FRA: Northern Championship
On the weekend 3-5 June the French Northern Championship on Lac Du Der was sailed. Ralf Mackmann won from Julien Dejugnat and Timothe Petetin.

New Class rules
A rminder that since the 1st of June the new Class rules are in effect. They are completely re-written but a lot of effort went into making sure that they don't change the boats and equippment.

World Championship 2017
Nick Craig sailed a quite flawless series to secure his 5th world championship title, followed by last years champion Jim Hunt and 2014's runner up Luke O'Connell.

Measurement is nearly finished, practice race scheduled for Friday before the Worlds races are run from Saturday til Wednesday.

New Class rules
After a lot of work the completely re-written class rules will come into effect from 1 June and are published now. NED: Spring Cup 2017
With sailors from 5 nations, this was the last big events before the worlds in Barbados. Jim Hunt won from Charlie Cumbley and Richard Burton. SWE: Stenungsund 2017
On the weekend 29-30 April 2017 the Stenungsund regatta was held in Sweden, Thomas Hansson-Mild won from Jonas Börjesson and Jan-Erik Engholm. THA: Hua Hin Regatta 2017
From 26-30 April 2017 the Hua Hin Regatta was held in Thailand, Thanakan Korkerd won from Pariwat Aleemin and Kitsadar Sirisakon. NZL: Season Ranking 2016/7
With all ranking regattas held, Ben Morrison leads the ranking from Luke O'Connell (same points) and teve McDowell just one point behind. NZL: Turangi 2017
The Turangi weekend also was the North Island Championship, thus counting towards the world ranking, won by Steve McDowell from Ben Morrison and Luke O'Connell.

Hjertman OK Sprint champion 2017

On Saturday, April 22, Hjertman's OK Sprint is being held with 32 sailors challenging for the title of Hjertman OK Sprint champion 2017. The field includes three former World Champions, two Olympic sailors and many Swedish champions, World Cup medalists, etc. The varied fleet with young hungry sailors will make it an action-packed day with short heat races right off the shore in Gottskär.

The Agenda for the AGM in Barbados is online now, together with the 2016 accounts and a bid document by the Arco Sailing Club at Lake Garda (Italy) for the 2018 European Championship and the 2021 World Championship. World Ranking List March 2017
For the first time in the history of the OK Dinghy World Ranking List, not only are the top 3 three unchanged, but the entire top 20 of the March 2017 release are unchanged from the previous release.

Because of a clash in dates with an Air show, the nationals are now shifted to 21-24 September, but will be held at same venue in Herne Bay.

The organizers decided to move the close for reduced early entry fee forward, it's the 1st of May now, so if you know you're going and want to save some money, remember to enter before 1st of May.

Paul Elvstrøm and the early days of the OK Dinghy
Paul was a committed supporter of the OK from the very beginning in 1956
Bill Tyler 1940-2016
With great sadness we report that our dear OK friend Bill Tyler passed away, aged 76, on December 6, 2016, at his home in Sydney, with his wife, Jan, and his immediate and extended family with him.
OK Dinghy sailors have lost a friend and great supporter and we send our sympathies to his family and close friends.

World Ranking List October 2016
Current European Champion Bo Petersen (DEN) stays at the top of the October 2017 release of the OK Dinghy World Ranking list. In addition both Petersen and second placed Thomas Hansson-Mild (SWE) join a select group of sailors who have collected more than 1000 points.

After many years, the french association offers famous ski-yachting again, with one day of racing on skis and 3 days sailing at Antibes on the Côte d'Azur.

Over 50 boats from 4 nations competed for the swedish national championship, won by Thomas Hansson-Mild from Jonas Qvist and Stefan Pavia. Dutch nationals 2016
The 2016 Eastersee Regatta wa also the Dutch Cmapionship, won by Dirk Dame from Frank Strelow and Jörg Rademacher. Southern French nationals 2016
The Southern France Championship was won by Philippe Chelle from Julien Dejugnat and Patrick Nicolas.

The final results are online here now. There was an error further down in the results, as some penalties given by the race committee were not rule conform as ruled by the jury, but the penalties were not taken out of the results published by the club.
