Rüdiger Prinz 1964-2015
It is with great sadness that we inform OK Dinghy sailors that our German friend Rüdiger 'Rübe' Prinz has died after a period of illness, on 26 March, aged 50.
He will be missed for his calm and friendship, always helpful and a great sportsman.
He started sailing OK Dinghy in the mid 1980s, for many years in his boats GER 634, GER 711 and later the bright orange GER 773.
Rüdiger was several times national champion in Germany and France and also had several top ten worlds results and worlds race wins. He was a big supporter of championships in exotic locations like India and Thailand and helped make them happen by organising transport for European sailors to attend.
OK Dinghy sailors have lost a friend and great supporter and we send our sympathies to his family and close friends.
